National Marine Ecological Museum
Keelung / Taiwan
Architects: Foster + Partners
The National Marine Ecological Museum is a bold, cubic building brought to life with a unique nighttime identity. Embedded within the façade between each architectural cube, the museum’s lighting design features gradients that fluctuate fluidly, like the waters nearby and the aquatic habitats housed within. These cubes reference myriad submarine lighting conditions: from transparent and translucent flows to rogue rapids and placid pools. The lighting between each cube extends and glows like soft brushstrokes responding to the overall architectural concept.
